World's Fastest Supercomputer Fugaku Fully-Functional
After a seven-year-long augmentation procedure, the world's most powerful supercomputer dubbed Fugaku is now fully-functional in Japanese scientific research institute Riken. Developed in collaboration with Fujitsu, Fugaku boasts a maximum performance of 442 petaflops while executing extensive high-resolution and long-duration simulations. Presently available for shared use, Japan's Research Organisation for Information Science and Technology (RIST) has shortlisted 74 research projects for April. Reportedly, the supercomputer could be pitched for COVID-related research as well.
