The Uttar Pradesh teacher who was seen asking students to slap their Muslim classmate in a viral video today justified her action, saying it was a "minor issue". The incident has sparked a massive row over communal angle. Tripta Tyagi said, "There was pressure from the child's parents to be strict with him. I am handicapped, so I made some students slap him." She denied any communal angle.

UP Muzaffarnagar Students Slap Muslim Kid, Provoked By Teacher
In a shocking event, a school teacher in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar made students slap a Muslim kid inside the classroom. A video of the incident which took place in Khabbarpur village has gone viral on social media and the police have begun a probe. "I have declared jitne bhi Mohammedan bachhe hai..." the teacher was caught saying on camera while she called the rest of the class, asked taking turns.

In Tamil Nadu's Tiruvannalamalai region, a Muslim woman named Shabana was restricted to write her Hindi examination, because of her hijab. The administration stopped her and asked her to remove Hijab if she wishes to appear for an exam. The issue soon escalated with protests and involvement of top level educational officials, who later approved Shabana to sit for exam in Hijab. However, citing unstable condition, Shabana refused to sit.

After the Unacademy teacher Karan Sangwani was fired, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal took a dig at the Ed-tech platform and questioned his firing. In a tweet, Kejriwal said, "Is it a crime to appeal to educated people to vote? If someone is illiterate, personally I respect him. But people's representatives cannot be illiterate." Ed-Tech company Unacademy has fired its teacher whose video had gone viral in which he could be heard asking students to vote for a literate person in the upcoming elections. Jadavpur University Student Death: UGC Says No Measure To Control Ragging
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has reprimanded Jadavpur University for submitting a "generic" report on the alleged ragging and sexual harassment of a student leading to his death, according to sources. Noting that no proactive measures have been taken by the university to curb ragging on campus, the commission has told the university that it is not satisfied with the report. Furthermore, the UGC sought investigation report.

Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin assured students that NEET, medical entrance exam will soon be scrapped in the State, and requested them not to take their lives.
