AIIMS Director Dismisses Reports Of 3rd Wave Being Harsher On Kids

AIIMS-Delhi director Dr Randeep Guleria has dismissed those reports, which claimed that the third COVID-19 wave would affect children more adversely. In a press conference on June 8, Guleria stated, "There is no data - either from India or globally - to show that children will be seriously infected." Terming the claims as misinformation, Guleria stated 60%-70% of the children affected in the second COVID-19 wave had low immunity.

Rajasthan HC Rejects Asaram Bapu's Bail Plea For Medical Treatment

The Rajasthan High Court on May 21 rejected the self-styled godman Asaram Bapu’s plea for interim bail to pursue medical treatment through Ayurveda in Haridwar. Reportedly, the court, after considering his COVID-19 positive report, addressed the district and jail administration to ensure proper treatment to the minor rape convict Asaram. Moreover, the bench mentioned the return of the convict to Jodhpur central jail after his recovery.

Uttarakhand CM Trivendra Singh Rawat Admitted To AIIMS Delhi

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat was admitted to AIIMS Delhi on December 28 following the COVID-19 complications. Reportedly, the 60-year-old Rawat has developed a chest infection after contracting the virus on December 18.
