Assam: Around 300 Flyers Escape Mandatory COVID Test At Silchar Airport
As many as 300 passengers at Assam's Silchar airport on April 21 escaped from the premises to avoid the mandatory RT-PCR test. Reportedly, the testing was scheduled at the Tikol model hospital near the airport for about 690 people landing at Silchar. However, "They literally ran away from the centre," said an airport official. Meanwhile, 189 passengers took the test and the police have been tracking the missing ones.

Mangaluru Customs Confiscates Gold Worth Rs1.3 Crore; Hidden Under Body
The Customs Department at Mangaluru International Airport have arrested three people and confiscated 2.8 Kg of gold worth Rs 1.3 crore, on April 7. Accused Muhamad Ashraf had hidden gold under his feet, while Rajeesh had concealed gold under his large intestine, as four capsules in compound form. Reportedly, Muhamad Kalanad an another smuggler who was arrested by the security officials through the intelligence agency inputs.

The Andhra Pradesh government has renamed the Kurnool Airport, inaugurated at Orvakal on March 25, after freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy. Government Plans To Sell 10 Airports In 3rd Round Of Privatisation

China: 4 Men Eat 30 Kg Oranges In 30 Mins To Not To Pay Extra Baggage Fee
In order to avoid 300 Yuan (Rs 3,384) charged for extra baggage by airliner, four Chinese men ate 30-kilogram oranges in about 20-30 minutes. The men gluttoned the oranges at an airport in China's Yunnan province. However, after the abnormal diet, they ended up having ulcers in their mouths. Mocking them, a netizen wrote, "Couldn't they pack the oranges into four pieces of hand luggage and carry them into the cabin?"

Bangalore City Gets Rail Link To Airport; Ticket Priced At Rs 10
Bangalore's much-awaited train service from the city railway station to Kempegowda International Airport, which is in the outskirts of the city was launched on January 4.
