ED Moves Supreme Court Against Bail Granted To Anil Deshmukh In Money Laundering Case
After the Bombay High Court granted bail to former Maharashtra Minister Anil Deshmukh, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) moved the Supreme Court. On October 10, the ED filed a petition, as soon as the Apex Court reopened after the Dussehra holidays. Notably, the granted bail will be in effect from October 13. Moreover, the ED is investigating a money laundering case against the NCP leaders and arrested him.

Anil Deshmukh Gets Bail In Money Launder Case: Bombay HC
The Bombay High Court has granted bail to former Maharashtra Minister Anil Deshmukh in a money laundering case, registered by the Enforcement Directorate (ED.) On October 4, the HC reviewed Deshmukh's plea and granted bail to the National Congress Party member, with a bond of Rs 1 lakh. Although Anil has been granted bail, he will still remain behind the bars in the Central Bureau of Investigation case.

CBI Court Dismisses Bail Plea Filed By Anil Deshmukh: Mumbai
A CBI court in Mumbai reviewed the bail plea of NCP leader Anil Deshmukh and rejected it. On July 11, the court bench denied interim relief to Anil who is hoping to get bail in the alleged money laundering cases. Furthermore, the CBI court refused to accept the bail plea, demanding demand in all cases of money laundering. Notably, besides CBI, ED is also investigating the money laundering case.

Anil Deshmukh Corruption Case: Special CBI Court Rejects Bail Plea Of Suspended Cop Sachin Waze
Special CBI court hearing the corruption case against former Maharashtra minister Anil Deshmukh, rejected the bail plea of accused Sachin Waze. Allegedly, Sachin Waze, a suspended cop, extorted around Rs 4.70 crore from Orchestra bars in Mumbai. Reportedly, the money was supposed to be paid to Deshmukh, who had ordered the police personnel to collect at least Rs 100 crore every month from bars and restaurants in Mumbai.

CBI Probe Against Deshmukh: Param Bir Singh Felt Threatened During Meeting With DGP Pandey
Former city police commissioner Param Bir Singh felt intimidated during a meeting with interim DGP Sanjay Pandey. Pandey urged Sanjay to retract his disputed letter to the Chief Minister and informed him that the state government was considering filing criminal charges against him. His testimony is included in the charge sheet submitted by the Central Bureau of Investigation against NCP leader Anil Deshmukh and others earlier this month.

Nawab Malik & Anil Deshmukh Petition SC For Permission To Vote In MLC Elections
Nawab Malik and Anil Deshmukh have appealed to Supreme Court to be allowed to vote in Maharashtra Legislative Council elections. Both politicians are presently detained and have filed an appeal against the Bombay HC's June 17 decision. "It is not inclined to accede to the broad proposition that permitting the persons (who are otherwise not qualified to vote in the election) to vote strengthens the democracy," Bombay HC ruled.

Bombay HC Declines Bail Pleas Of Malik, Deshmukh To Vote In MLC Elections
The Bombay High Court on June 17 denied Anil Deshmukh and Nawab Malik's requests for interim release. NCP Leaders Anil Deshmukh and Nawab Malik had applied for interim release in order to vote in the forthcoming MLC elections on June 20. The High Court on June 10 denied Malik any immediate relief, stating that the context of his appeal was for bail.

Mumbai Court Rejects Bail Plea Of Nawab Malik, Anil Deshmukh
The Mumbai Court rejected the bail plea of Nawab Malik and Anil Deshmukh, both NCP leaders, on June 9. Notably, Malik and Deshmukh filed a petition seeking bail for one-day, in order to vote in the Rajya Sabha. The lawyers of the leaders demanded a copy of the orders, to approach the Bombay High Court. Moreover, Malik and Deshmukh are registered with the Enforcement Directorate in the money-laundering cases.

SC Directs Bombay HC To Hear Anil Deshmukh's Bail Plea In Money Laundering Case
The apex court has expeditiously directed the Bombay High Court to hear the bail plea of Maharashtra minister Anil Deshmukh, in the ongoing money laundering case. The directions have come after Senior Advocate Kapil Sibal representing Deshmukh, appealed to the SC bench, stating, "he (Deshmukh) is a very sick man and 73, years old". Deshmukh was arrested after he failed to comply with the ED summons five times.
