Kanpur Man Assaulted, Forcefully Made To Chant 'Jai Shri Ram'

Afsar Ahmad, an e-rickshaw driver in Kanpur, was assaulted on August 11 by some Hindu extremists forcing him to chant "Jai Shri Ram" while his five-year-old daughter cried and pleaded to set him free. The men were seen wearing saffron scarves accusing Ahmad of raising anti-national slogans while he repeatedly denied it. Fortunately, the police rescued the duo to a police station. Three people have been arrested hitherto.

Woman's Leg, Rib Broken For More Dowry, Gold In Kerala

A 31-year-old woman alleged that her husband and in-laws brutally thrashed her in Kerala for "more dowry and gold," which resulted in the breakage of the woman's leg and rib bone. Reportedly, on the third day after their marriage, she was asked to ''sell her gold to buy an apartment." She was tortured for refusing the deal. Besides, the family paid 50 sovereigns of gold.

Farmers Protesting Against Sedition Case, To 'Gherao' SP's Office

Paramilitary troops are stationed as farmers in Haryana’s Sirsa, knocked down police barricades on July 17 while protesting against the arrest of fellow farmers. Reportedly, five farmers were arrested and charged with sedition for allegedly assaulting BJP leader Ranbir Gangwa on July 11. Sirsa is on high alert as farmer leaders are planning to gather around the office of the local SP to demand the release of those arrested.

Doctor Charged For Molesting Nurse In Mumbai

An assault case has been filed against a doctor from Aarti Hospital in Nala Sopara, Mumbai, for allegedly molesting a staff nurse. He was booked under IPC Section 354, 354 (b) (assault women's modesty), and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation), although the doctor is yet to be arrested. Tulinj Police officials are yet to throw an investigation. Reportedly, an official statement from the doctor is yet to be recorded.

A 57-year-old cleric has died in UP's Muzaffarnagar after her second wife castrated him on June 24. Reportedly, the second wife Hazra castrated him because he turned a deaf ear to her and was adamant to marry for the third time. Bombay HC Grants Anticipatory Bail To Rana Ayyub: Ghaziabad Assault Video Case

The Bombay High Court has granted transit anticipatory bail to Journalist Rana Ayyub, giving her protection for four weeks, from being arrested.
