12 Killed And 11 Injured In Highway Accident: Mexico
At least 12 people lost their lives and 11 were injured, after passanger van crashed in Jalisco, Mexico, on January 29. The Civil Protection & Fire department of Jalisco said that tourists were travelling in the vehicle, when it overturned on Leon-Aguascalientes highway, resulting in killing of eight men and four women. Notably, the Jalisco has registered 1,015 deaths due to traffic accidents in 2021.

Heavy Snowfall Kills 42 People & Leaves Several Injured In Afghanistan
At least 42 people died, and 118 others were injured due to heavy snowfall in 15 provinces of Afghanistan. Moreover, 2,000 houses destroyed in the snowfall since 20 days, said officials. Tractor-Car Collision In Banaskantha Kills 5 People: Gujarat
Five persons have been killed in an accident on January 16, at Tharad-Dhanera highway in Banaskantha district, Gujrat. Reportedly, a truck collided with a car today morning. Power Station Flood In China Leaves 9 Dead, 2 Rescued
Nine people lost their lives after a building flooded at a power station in Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, southwest China's Sichun Province, local media reported on January 14. Two people were rescued in a stable condition, while all the flood water had been pumped out by afternoon. Pertinently, rescue operation was called off, which was joined by over 500 workers, as 11 maintenance people were trapped in the power station.

Car Rams Into Road Divider In Karnataka; 7 Dead
Seven persons died in a road accident, after the car they were travelling in rammed into a road divider in Jagaluru Taluka area in Karnataka, on January 14. The victims were travelling to Hosapete from Bengaluru, when the accident happened, and reportedly hailed from Yadgir district. Six of them were killed on the spot, while another one succumbed to injuries at hospital.

Policeman, JeM Militant Killed In Kulgam Encounter: J&K
A policeman from Special Operations Group (SOG) of J&K police, and a Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) militant were killed in a gunfight at Kulgam Kashmir, while three army-men and two civilians were also injured. 5 Killed, 9 Missing After Landslide In China's Guizhou Province
In Bijie City of China's Guizhou province, five people were killed and nine others went missing in a landslide incident that hit a construction site, authorities informed on January 4. Reportedly, the landslide occurred at around 7 pm on January 3. Meanwhile, eight people were rescued, with three of them stable in hospital, while five others were declared dead. Rescue teams are searching for missing people, reported ANI.
