3 Arrested For Possession Of Leopard Skin In Rajnandgaon: Chhattisgarh

In Chhattisgarh's Rajnandgaon district, Chhattisgarh police on February 23, arrested three persons for possession of leopard skin. Security Forces Kill Naxal In Encounter At Sukma Chhattisgarh

Security forces killed a Naxal in an encounter in Sukma Chhattisgarh on January 30, Sources said. They said that encounter started at 6.45 am, in Thimmapuram village, when a joint team of forces was out on patrolling. A police officer said that armed ultras opened fire on the forces, leading the encounter, following which the body of a male Naxal, clad in 'uniform' & arms were recovered from the spot.

22-Year-Old Woman Dies After Being Hit By An Elephant: Chhattisgarh

A 22-year-old woman was trampled to death on January 15, after being hit by an elephant in the Surajpur area of Chhattisgarh. BS Bhagat, the Divisional Forest Officer identified the woman as Paan Kunwar, who was grazing her goats and collecting woods in the forest. However, an aid of Rs 25,000 was immediately provided to the kin and remaining compensation Rs 5.75 lakh will be given later.

SSB Personnel Injured In Naxal-provoked IED Blast At Chhattisgarh

A personnel belonging to 33 Battalion of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) was injured in a Naxal-provoked IED blast in Chattisgarh on January 14, said a police superintendent. He said that firing continued for 10 minutes after the blast at 12:55 pm near Padkalbeda village. The injured jawan was evacuated to hospital for treatment. As per police, the battalion was out for railway line protection duty.

6 Maoists Killed In Joint Operation By Telangana, Chhattisgarh Police

Acting on a tip-off, Telangana and Chhattisgarh police killed six Maoists in an encounter at the South Bastar area under Sukma District, on December 27. The area falls on the Telangana-Chhattisgarh border area. It was a joint operation of both state police and took place between 6:30 am and 7:00 am, according to the Bhadradri Kothaguen district police. Reportedly, six bodies and weapons have been recovered.

Conjoined Twins Die Under Unknown Circumstances: Chattisgarh

Shivram and Shivnath, famous Chhattisgarh conjoined twins with two heads, four hands, and two legs, died under unexplained circumstances. An old video also surfaced in which the two brothers expressed their dissatisfaction with their father for failing to give them money earned in their names. The death was reportedly caused by common cough and cold. The twins alleged that the police did not do "enough" to assist them in the situation.

Eleven Maoists Surrendered From Sukma District

About 11 Maoists from the Sukma district surrendered to the police troops, on September 29, after 24 Maoists surrendered from the same district on September 27. As per government reports, the 11 Maoists were working as lower-level cadres and had warrants out for their arrest. As part of the government's surrender and rehabilitation program, police stated the Maoists will be given immediate aid and will be offered amenities.
