Former Union Minister, Congress Leader Pandit Sukh Ram Passes Away

Congress leader and former Union Minister Pandit Sukh Ram passed away due to a brain stroke at the age of 94. He had a brain stroke on May 4 in Manali, on May 7 he was admitted to the AIIMS in New Delhi for better treatment. Grandson of Pandit Sukh Ram, Aashray Sharma announced the obituary through a Facebook post on  May 11,

'Regulate Fees' For Private Medical Colleges, Says Congress Leader

Congress party demanded a 'regulated fees' for private medical colleges and raised the issue in the 'Zero Hour' of the Rajya Sabha, on April 5. Stating that there are only 53% of government medical colleges, there is a need for regulation in fees for private ones.  Furthermore, Congress' Jairam Ramesh said, "the belief that private medical education will form the foundation of medical education in this country is deeply flawed".

Congress Releases 3rd List Of MLA Candidates Ahead Of Goa Polls

Ahead of Assembly elections in Goa, scheduled in single phase on February 14, Congress party has released the third list of candidates. The former state minister Michael Lobo, who left the BJP to join the Congress will contest from the Calangute constituency. The MLA candidate list on its Twitter handle which includes Anthony-L-Fernandes, Lavu Mamlekar, Prasad Gaonkar and others. Notably, the counting of votes will take place on March 10.

According to reports, Goa Congress senior leader and two-term CM Luizinho Faleiro is expected to join Trinamool Congress (TMC) in Goa before the assembly elections next year.
