DDMA Reimposes Mandatory Face Mask Rule With Rs 500 Fine For Violators: Delhi
Amid the recent surge in COVID-19 cases, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) reimposed mandatory face masks in the national capital. On April 20, the DDMA and Delhi held a meeting and announced to impose a Rs 500 fine for violators of face mask COVID-19 protocol. Furthermore, as of now, there is no decision on the closure of schools and other places, but new SOPs have been issued.

No Plan To Impose Fine For Not Wearing Mask In Delhi: Manish Sisodia
In Delhi, there will be no fine for not wearing a face mask, confirmed Deputy CM Manish Sisodia. The statement came amid rise in COVID-19 cases. Addressing the media, Sisodia said, "We need to learn to live with Covid-19 as it will stay longer; we will take strict actions if the cases spike more". Furthermore, a meeting has been scheduled with the DDMA to discuss the situation on April 20.

Delhi Metro To Restart As Per Regular Schedule On Weekends
The DMRC issued a statement on January 27 and said that the metro services will resume as per the regular weekend schedule from January 29. After seeing a dip in Covid-19 cases the weekend curfew was lifted. Meanwhile, with 50% capacity restaurants, bars, and cinema halls will be reopened and shops with an odd-even system. However, with 100% seating capacity metro will start without any passengers standing inside the metro.

DDMA Issues Orders, Shuts Offices, Restaurants & Bars Amid COVID-19 Surge
The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) on January 11, decided not to impose lockdown in Delhi, but restrictions. The DDMA asked all private firms to shut down and allow work from home, amid COVID-19 surge and Omicron situation. DDMA To Hold Meeting, Likely To Discuss Curbs & Restrictions Amid COVID Surge
Delhi Disaster Management Authority is going to meet on January 10, amid the rising number of COVID-19 cases and Omicron situation. The DDMA is expected to discuss the ongoing curbs and restrictions and decide more prevention measures to control the current situation including "total curfew" and others under "Graded Action Plan". Meanwhile, Delhi reported over 17,000 new COVID-19 cases in 24 hours, making it the most affected region.

PM Modi Extends Greetings On Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 9, extended greetings on the birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh, 10th guru of the Sikh religion. "I will always cherish the fact that our Government got the opportunity to mark his 350th Prakash Utsav," PM Modi tweeted. Earlier Union Minister Rajnath Singh also extended greetings. Delhi Govt Imposes Weekend Curfew; Metro To Operate At 100% Capacity
The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) imposed a weekend curfew in the national capital to curb the spread of COVID-19. Meanwhile, nobody will be allowed to travel for non-essential reasons. Moreover, government offices, barring essential services, have been asked to allow their employees to work from home. Private offices can operate at 50% capacity. However, buses and metro can run at 100% seating capacity, as per the order.

Morning arti was performed at Jhandewalan Temple at Delhi on the second day of Navratri, and it will continue till October 15, as this year "Ashtmi falls" on October 13, while Dashmi on October 15. Delhi Disaster Management Authority has granted permission to open religious places adhering to the Covid-19 protocols. As per the orders, sprinkling holy water and giving Prasad is not permitted inside the temple.

Delhi's Private School Can't Allow 'Unvaxxed' Teachers, Says DoE
In the latest circular, the directorate of education (DoE) has issued an order for all private schools to not allow any teachers and school staff to come to the school if they aren't fully vaccinated. The circular also prescribed the deadline for vaccination that is October 15, after that teachers' ''absence may be treated as on leave''. Notably, the same rule is also mandatory in government schools.

Delhi Unlocks Further, Bars & Restaurants Allowed With 50% Capacity
Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) on June 20, issued an order, to ease the lockdown curbs further. According to DDMA, Bars and Restaurants are allowed to operate with 50% seating capacity. Moreover, public parks, gardens, golf clubs, and outdoor yoga activities will be allowed from June 21. However, cinema halls, gyms, spas, schools, colleges, swimming pools, banquet halls shall remain close for at least another week.
