Farmers' Protest: Toll Plazas Suffering Rs 1.8 Cr Loss/Day
The public-funded toll plazas across Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi-NCR are undergoing a loss of Rs 1.8 crore a day due to farmers' protest stated Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari. Reportedly, the loss that started in October 2020 has intensified to the zero-fee collection since December. Earlier, reports by rating agency ICRA had estimated loss of Rs 600 crore due to protests as 52 toll plazas were predicted to be affected.
