UP Govt To Provide Rs 45 Lakh As Compensation To Lakhimpur Farmers
In the latest development of the Lakhimpur violence case, the Uttar Pradesh government has on October 4 said that the compensation of Rs 45 lakh and a government job would be provided to the bereaved families of four farmers who died during the protest. Moreover, the injured ones will receive Rs 10 lakh. Reportedly, around eight people lost their lives among which four of them were BJP workers.

Yogi Govt Puts Priyanka Gandhi Under House Arrest: Lakhimpur Violence
In the biggest development in UP, Congress's general secretary Priyanka Gandhi was put under house arrest in Sitapur on the morning of October 4. Reportedly, she was going to meet the family of four farmers who allegedly died after a car of the state Home Minister Ajay Misra's son ran over them in Lakhimpur Kheri. Farmers Protest Outside Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar's House
Thousands of farmers have protested against the three controversial farm laws by gathering outside the residence of Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal khattar on October 2. Meanwhile, police, developed with tear gas vehicles, tried to disperse them using water cannons. A day Earlier, farmer leader Rakesh Tikait also warned against the protest as the centre said they'd not buy Kharif, paddy from Punjab and Haryana till October 11.

Centre Should Consider Farmers' 'Legitimate Demand': Arvind Kejriwal
Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, on September 27, asked the Centre to consider the demands of farmers protesting against the three farm laws. Kejriwal said, "farmers are being forced to protest and call for Bharat Bandh again and again to raise their demands. Their demands are legitimate, and the Centre should consider them." Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party has also extended support to the farmers' Bharat Bandh call on September 27.

AAP & Akali Dal Observe Sept 17 As 'Black Day': 1st Anniversary Of Farm Laws
On the anniversary of passing three farm laws by the central government, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) have announced to observe September 17 as ''black day''. AAP leaders have decided to hold candle marches in Punjab to pay tribute to the farmers who died during the protest. Farmers Plans To Protest In Muzaffarnagar; UP Govt Faces Backlash

Police Will Use Force If Protesting Farmers Throw Stones: Haryana CM
CM Manohar Lal Khattar on August 28 said that if the protesting farmers ''jam highways and throw stones at police, then the police will also take steps to maintain law and order''. Notably, his remark came after Haryana police lathi-charged the farmers to disperse them in Karnal, resulting in injury to four farmers and 10 policemen. Rahul Gandhi Demands 'Roll Back Farms Laws' On Twitter
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on August 27 demanded to ''roll back the farm laws'', as the farmers completed the nine months of protest at Delhi borders on August 26. Celebrating the occasion, the protesting farmers had also organized an All India Convention at the Singhu border. However, supporting the protesting farmers, Gandhi also tweeted, ''he will not let farms be destroyed or gifted to friends.''
