Canada Suspends Flights From India, Pakistan Amid Rising COVID Cases

Canada's Transport Minister Omar Alghabra has announced to dismiss all flights from India and Pakistan for 30 days, citing massive rise in COVID-19 cases. The minister said, "This is a temporary measure, while we assess and evolve situation and determine appropriate measures going forward." The decision will reportedly be effective from April 23. Notably, India recorded over 3 lakh new COVID-19 cases on April 22.

G-20 Summit: Chinese President Bats For QR code During International Travel

During G-20 summit, Chinese President Xi Jinping has urged universal use of QR codes for international travellers to track their movement in the COVID affected regions. Reportedly, the code would track people based on the prior data collected. Besides, the QR code will be in three colours that will indicate the severity. Nepal Starts Easing Lockdown; Mountaineering, Trekking Allowed From Oct 17

Nepal has planned to allow intercity buses, restaurants and domestic flights among others as a part of relaxations in lockdown. Nepal's Foreign Minister Pradeep Gyawali announced the decision through a press briefing. Reportedly, mountaineering and trekking activities can be allowed from October 17. Besides, Nepal was allowing only 800 passengers through international flights till now, but the numbers will be increased gradually to 3000.

DGCA Says Refund Applicable Only For Flights Originating In India

DGCA has informed the Supreme Court that the refund for international air tickets will be applicable only for flights originating from India. It said that there cannot be any refund for flights originating out of India, irrespective of it being an Indian or international carrier coming into India. The DGCA also clarified that there is no credit shell for travel agents as it is a private agreement.
