ED Raids Karuvannur Co-operative Bank In Rs 104 Bank Fraud Case: Kerala
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted raids at Karuvannur Co-operative Bank in Kerala's, on August 10. ED also conducted raids at the residences in Thrissur, belonging to four accused involved in the case. Reportedly, about Rs 104 crore fraud has been reported in the Karuvannur Co-operative Bank. Further details on the matter is awaited, and ED probe is underway.

Red Alert Issued In Kerala Amid Excessive Water Discharge From Dams
Amid Kerala rainfall and various dams continuing to discharge excess water, the concerned weather authority issues red alerts in Kerala. In Many dams of the state, water has been released due to excessive rainfall causing trouble to people in the region as the water level has breached the upper rule curve. Kerala Rains: 3 Pregnant Women Stranded In Forest Rescued
Amid heavy downpour in the southern state of Kerala, officials have rescued three pregnant women who were stranded in a forest. Reportedly, the women got stranded after heavy rains started to lash the region. One woman gave birth to her baby in the forest, as she refused to go to the hospital. The other two women are six to seven months pregnant.

Kalamassery Bus Burning Case: 3 Accused Sent To Rigorous Imprisonment
In the 2005 Kalamassery bus bqurning case, three accused have been sentenced to rigorous imprisonment by a special NIA court in Kochi, on August 1. While two accused were sentenced to seven years rigorous imprisonment, one was sentenced to six years rigorous imprisonment. In the aforementioned case, a Tamil Nadu state government bus was set on fire in Kerala's Ernakulam, and the case was taken up by NIA in 2010.

Kerala Conducts Mud Football Tournament To Spread Anti-Drug Message
Jan Shikshan Sansthan, Malappuram, Kerala, held a mud football event as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to promote anti-drug messaging among tribal communities. The sport featured eight teams representing various colonies. The competition was won by Rupas Nedunkayam. Chaliyar Panchayat hosted the competition on a specially prepared field. The JSS is working on projects to eradicate the use of alcohol and drugs in tribal settlements.

IMD Issues Yellow Alert Till Next Four Days
In Kerala, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall. According to the IMD, the State will witness heavy rainfall for the next four days, starting from July 31. A yellow alert has been issued for Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad and Malappuram districts. Furthermore, a notification regarding restrictions on fishing has been issued on August 3.
