Droupadi Murmu Highlights Difficulties Of Prisoners Under Trials
During the inauguration of the Jharkhand HC building, the President of India Droupadi Murmu, highlighted the issue of prisoners under trial. Speaking of access to justice, she spoke about the rising number of cases are a burden to courts, as many cases are still pending, Prisoners and accused are crowding jails, as they are undertrials. "We (referring the whole society) should address the root cause of the problem, said Droupadi Murmu.

Supreme Court Gets 2 HC Judges, Total Strength Regains At 34
Justice Rajesh Bindal, currently Chief Justice of Allahabad HC and Justice Aravind Kumar, Chief Justice of Gujarat HC, have been appointed as the Supreme Court (SC) judges. With this new addition, the total strength of the Apex Court judges increased to 34. "As per the provisions under the Constitution of India, Hon'ble President of India has appointed the judges of the SC, said Law Minister Kiren Rijijiu.

Draupadi Murmu Will Visit Odisha For 2-Days Visit
President of India Draupadi Murmu is scheduled to have a two-day visit to Odisha, starting on February 10. During the visit, President Murmu will attend the second convocation of Rama Devi Women's University. It is to be noted, Draupadi Murmu completed her education at Rama Devi Women's University in 1979, and expressed ger will to attend the convocation. Besides attending the convocation, Murmu will also attend other events in Odisha.

President Murmu To Begin 3-Day Tripura, Assam Visit

Indian President Draupadi Murmu To Attend Queen Elizabeth II Funeral
President Droupadi Murmu will visit London to attend the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II and offer condolences on behalf of the Indian government. On September 14, the Union Ministry of External Affairs announced the visit, from September 17 to 19. Notably, England announced official mourning amid the demise of Queen Elizabeth II, on September 19.

President Draupadi Murmu To Address Nation At 7 PM
The President of India, Draupadi Murmu will address the nation, on August 14, the eve of the 76th Independence Day. The address to the nation will be telecasted on All India Radio (AIR) network, followed by Doordarshan, in English and Hindi, at 7:00 pm. Furthermore, this is the first address to the nation after Draupadi Murmu was elected as the President of India, in July.

Draupadi Is Not My Real Name, My Teacher Gave Me, Says President Murmu
The 15th President of India Draupadi Murmu revealed that it is not her birth name, but given by her school teacher. On July 25, after swearing-in as the next President of India, Murmu said, as per Santhali culture, a girl takes the name of her grandmother, while a son carries his grandfather’s nomenclature. Her name was Puti, which was later changed to Draupadi, given by her school teacher.
