President of India Ram Nath Kovind along with his wife Savita and daughter Swati reached Kerala on a two-day visit, on May 25. He was received by State Governor Arif Mohammad Khan, Transport Minister Antony Raju, and Mayor Aryan Rajendran. During the visit, President Kovind will inaugurate the two-day National Women Legislators' Conference-2022 at the Sankaranarayanan Thampi, on May 26, following which he will leave for Pune.

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh attended the convocation ceremony of DY Patil Vidyapeeth in Pune, where he addressed the students. During his speech, he advised students to idealize Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, and use the education they've  received for the betterment of the society. He said that even a millionaire can become like Bin Laden and a newspaper vendor can become like Kalam. 

Madhav Godbole (85) the former Union Home Secretary passed away due to cardiac failure at his residence in Pune, Maharashtra on April 25.  Highlighting his political career, Godbole was an IAS officer and served as the Union Home Secretary, of Petroleum & Natural Gas and Urban Development Departments. Furthermore, he took voluntary retirement from Home Secretary post in 1993. Sale of meat has been banned in the jurisdiction of Dehu area, in Pune, on April 1. The resolution was taken in the Nagar Panchayat which took place on February 25. Following the ban, meat shop owners in Dehu area have been asked to shut their shops, with a threat of legal action against violators. The move has come to safeguard the sentiments of the Sant Tukaram Maharaj temple devotees.

Within months of launch, an Ola S1 pro electric scooter caught fire in Pune on March 26. The video of scooter burning is being viral on social media platforms. In addition, an investigation into the matter has been launched. "We are aware of an incident in Pune that happened with one of our scooters and are investigating and will share more updates,'' read the official statement.
