Delhi BJP leader Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga has returned to Delhi following outrage over his arrest. Bagga had been arrested from residence in Janakpuri in the morning of 6th May. His arrest has ignited a political row. BJP politicians expressed shock over the arrest. On the other hand, the Aam Aadmi Party leaders have justified his arrest, insisting that the Punjab police had acted without any bias.

The Supreme Court has admitted Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia's plea seeking quashing of FIRs filed against him. Reportedly, the FIRs filed against Majithia by Punjab Police under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Act, will be challenged, as the plea is scheduled to be heard on April 26. Majithia who was granted protection against arrest till February 23, surrendered himself after the expiry of the said period.

The Punjab Police seizes a grenade launcher with two compatible grenades, 3.79 kg RDX, nine detonators, and two sets of timer devices from Gurdaspur. All that was seized could cover a range of 150 meters and could be detrimental to the VVIP security, reported an official statement. The police have booked four men, after the revelation by Malkeet Singh. The consignment was sent from Pakistan by Sikh Youth Federation. 

Months after busting an employee of Deputy Commissioner's office for making over 200 fake arms licenses, Punjab's Tarn Taran police have started verifying details of over 22,500 licences. Suspecting over 700 licences, the authorities have deployed gazetted officers to check the record of 17 gun houses and each licence issued. A man in Punjab’s Kapurthala crushed a stray dog under his car. A CCTV camera in the area has recorded the incident, which later went viral on social media. Maneka Gandhi, a Member of Lok Sabha and an animal rights activist, tweeted the video, condemning the act. An FIR has been registered against Gurinder Singh, who has been identified as the owner of the vehicle. Reportedly, the dog died after 30 minutes.
