Delhi BJP leader Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga has returned to Delhi following outrage over his arrest. Bagga had been arrested from residence in Janakpuri in the morning of 6th May. His arrest has ignited a political row. BJP politicians expressed shock over the arrest. On the other hand, the Aam Aadmi Party leaders have justified his arrest, insisting that the Punjab police had acted without any bias.

BJP's Tajinder Singh Bagga Detained By Punjab Police For Threat Allegations

BJP's Tajinder Singh Bagga was detained from his Delhhi residence, by the Punjab Police on May 6. According to ANI, the leader was arrested for allegedly threatening Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal. Furthermore, Tajinder's father and BJP leaders in Punjab called the action to be a misuse of power for targeting Bagga and condemned the arrest. As of now, the BJP leader is in Janakpuri Police Station.

SC To Hear SAD Leader Bikram Singh Majithia's Plea Seeking Quashing Of FIRs Against Him

The Supreme Court has admitted Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia's plea seeking quashing of FIRs filed against him. Reportedly, the FIRs filed against Majithia by Punjab Police under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Act, will be challenged, as the plea is scheduled to be heard on April 26. Majithia who was granted protection against arrest till February 23, surrendered himself after the expiry of the said period.

Punjab Police booked BJP Spokesperson Naveen Kumar Jindal for sharing a doctored video of Arvind Kejriwal. In the video, Kejriwal along with CM Bhagwant Mann and MLAs heard that now he takes corruption money. The case has been registered under various IPC sections. Meanwhile, Jindal said, "Misusing Punjab Police. Do as much FIR as you want to do. I am not going to be afraid of your cases".

Punjab Police Recovers Explosives & Grenade Ahead Of R-Day: Gurdaspur

The Punjab Police seizes a grenade launcher with two compatible grenades, 3.79 kg RDX, nine detonators, and two sets of timer devices from Gurdaspur. All that was seized could cover a range of 150 meters and could be detrimental to the VVIP security, reported an official statement. The police have booked four men, after the revelation by Malkeet Singh. The consignment was sent from Pakistan by Sikh Youth Federation.

Punjab Officials Provides Free Training To State Police Aspirants

Punjab Police has started providing free physical training and coaching to candidates who aspire to join the state police force. The decision comes after CM Amarinder Singh had announced the recruitment of a total of 4,362 constables in districts and an armed cadre of the state police. The physical screening test includes three tests; a 1600-meter run, a high jump, and a long jump. The recruitment will commence from July 15.
