Several Parts Of Mumbai Waterlogged; IMD Predicts Rainfall For Next 24 Hours

The city of Mumbai is experiencing water-logging across several areas due to incessant heavy rainfall, on October 8. The IMD has predicted that Mumbai will receive moderate to heavy rain with a cloudy sky, for the next 24 hours. IMD has also predicted isolated heavy rainfall over Gujarat, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra and Yanam in the upcoming couple of days.

Several Parts Of Mumbai Waterlogged Following Heavy Downpour: Maharashtra

Following heavy rainfall, several parts of the city of Mumbai have been waterlogged, as of September 13. The situation was at its very worst in Mumbai’s Simon area, with water levels extremely high, disturbing life. Meanwhile, Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an “yellow alert” to Mumbai, and adjourning places like Pune, Thane, Raigad and Phalgar. Since June 1 to August 12, over 120 persons have lost their lives.

Girl Falls From Scooty In Bangalore’s Waterlogged Road, Gets Electrocuted: Karnataka

In Karnataka’s Bangalore, a 23-year-old girl after accidentally coming in contact with a live wire, died on September 6. The victim identified as Akhila, was returning home from work when her scooty skidded in a waterlogged road. When she attempted to grab an electric pole, she was electrocuted. The family of the deceased blamed the BBMP and the administration for improper handling for electricity and other systems.

Bangalore Rains: Several Areas Waterlogged After Heavy Downpour

The city of Bangalore woke up to a wet day on September 5, as most of the parts received rainfall over night. Several places have been waterlogged, immobilising people from various sectors, causing traffic problems, and difficulty for daily office goers. In some places, the water levels have risen above the dividers in roads. A local reported that his basement was completely flooded, and he had to pump water out.

Incessant Rains Leave Several Parts Waterlogged In Rajasthan's Sri Ganganagar

Due to incessant rains in Rajasthan's Sri Ganganagar district, several parts have been flooded, on July 16. The monsoon has caused water-logging and heavy inundation in various parts of the city. Huge bodies of water can be found across streets, houses and shops. People living in the affected areas are forced to commute in knee-deep waters. Meanwhile Army and BSF personnel have been deployed to assist with the relief operations.

Decomposed Body Found In Drains Of Maharashtra's Palghar Region

Due to the constant rain in Maharashtra, a man identified as Rahul Vishwakarma was found dead in the Palghar area. On July 7, his decomposed body was recovered in a swollen drain, confirmed police official. Local firemen got a call around 4 pm, after a local spotted the body in the drain in Madhuban locality of Vasai township. The body which was highly decomposed has been sent for postmortem.

Waterlogging On NH-48 Delays Traffic, Causing Considerable Traffic Jams In Narsinghpur

Waterlogging was recorded on the national highway (NH)-48 on May 23 as rains pummeled sections of Delhi, as per Gurugram Traffic Police. Heavy Rainfall Causes Waterlogging In Several Cities Of Tamil Nadu

Continuous and heavy rainfall from the past two days has left with waterlogging and flood-like situations in several districts of Tamil Nadu. Speaking to ANI, a resident Rajathi requested the government to take immediate action to clear the waterlogging. "We can't cook and do our basic activities," added the resident. Besides, In view of this situation, Puducherry has also declared a holiday in schools and colleges for two days.

Flash Flood Takes 3 Lives; Leaves 30 Missing In Andhra Pradesh

In Andhra Pradesh's Kadapa district, a sudden flood killed three persons and left 30 others missing on November 19. Reportedly, several communities were flooded after the Cheyyeru river overflowed due to the dam breach. Moreover, depression over the Bay of Bengal crossed the coast between Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh, dumping heavy rains. Teams from the NDRF and SDRF have leaped into action for relief and rescue operations.
