Outgoing Wrestling Federation of India Chief and six-time BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has been accused of trying to control the federation through proxies. Although he has clarified that none of his family members filed nomination to contest the elections, it is said 18 of his supporters today filed nominations for the upcoming WFI elections. Despite sexual assault harassment allegations, the BJP MP is re-electing for the position.
Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court on July 20, granted bail to former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) Chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh and former WFI assistant secretary Vinod Tomar on a personal bond of Rs. 25000 each in the alleged sexual harassment case and molestation case filed by six woman wrestlers. Notably, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has been accused in the wrestler's assault and sexual harassment case.

A video of WFI Chairman Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, misbehaving with the media went viral on social media platforms. When asked about sexual harassment charges, the BJP MP and WFI Chairman misbehaved with the media person and refused to answer. He also mocked and said, "why would he give resignation". Responding to the comments of Wrestlers Federation of India (WFI) Chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, the protesting wrestlers said, "His ego is bigger than Ravana". Vinesh Phogat, one of the protestors, said that the WFI president's charge that they are involved in politics is 'baseless'. Notably, after the FIR, BJP MP Brij Bhushan said, he's ready to face investigation and denied all the allegations of the wrestlers, who continued protest.
