A 77-Year-Old Woman Approaches Supreme Court for Studying Law
A 77-year-old woman, Rajkumari Tyagi, approached the Supreme Court to permit her to pursue a three-year LL.B course. She challenged Bar Council of India (BCI) for prescribing an upper age limit of 30 years for the course. In her plea, she mentioned that BCI violated Articles 14, 19(1)(g) and 21 of the Constitution. Reportedly, Tyagi showed an interest in law after she solely defended the estate of her late husband.
