Actor Vijay, His Father At Loggerheads Over Registration Of Political Party
Kollywood actor Vijay and his father, filmmaker S.A. Chandrasekhar, are at loggerheads after the latter registered a political party under the actor's name. The actor, in an official statement, clarified that he did not have any direct or in-direct contact with ‘All India Thalapathy Vijay Makkal Iyakkam’, which was registered as a political party by his father. He informed that he will not be restricted by the political moves of his father. The actor further requested his fans not to enroll or engage themselves with the party. Vijay also warned lawsuits against illegal use of his name or pictures for political reasons. While a few trolled the father-son duo and called it as a "publicity stunt", a few fans showed their support to the actor. Earlier, in 2011 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, the actor and his fan club officially endorsed the then CM candidate Jayalalithaa and the AIADMK.
