Centre Removes Ex-IPS Kiran Bedi As Puducherry Lieutenant Governor

The Centre on February 16 released Puducherry L-G Kiran Bedi from her duties, giving Telangana governor Tamilisai Soundarajan additional charge of the UT. Reportedly, a delegation led by Puducherry CM V Narayanasamy had submitted a report against Bedi. The CM called out Bedi for failing to fulfill her responsibilities and interfere in the government affairs. Interestingly, the same day, Congress also lost its majority in the UT after its fourth MLA resigned from the party.
