Leaders Pay Homage To B.R. Ambedkar On Mahaparinirvan Diwas
On the 64th death anniversary of Dr B.R. Ambedkar on December 6, several leaders have reminisced the Father of the Indian Constitution. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while paying tribute to Ambedkar, said, "His thoughts and ideals continue to give strength to millions. We are committed to fulfilling the dreams he had for our nation." Home Minister Amit Shah, in his homage to Baba Saheb, said, "Modi government is working with dedication for the welfare of the section that has deprived for decades." Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also paid respect and said that only way to pay homage to Ambedkar is to remove all discriminations from the country. The day is also celebrated as Mahaparinirvan Diwas since B.R. Ambedkar practised and preached Buddhism in his last days.
