Maharashtra: Dilip Walse Patil Appointed As State Home Minister
Maharashtra's Labour Minister Dilip Walse Patil has been selected to handle State Home Ministry for a short-period, after Anil Deshmukh resigned on April 5. Considered a close aid of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Patil was the third choice of party supremo Sharad Pawar. The six-time MLA from Ambegaon, Patil, has also served as Maharashtra Assembly Speaker from 2009-14 and has handled education, finance and energy departments over the years.
