Maharashtra Imposes Section 144 To Control COVID-19 Surge
The Maharashtra government on April 13 announced to impose section 144 from April 14 to May 1, aiming to control the surge in the COVID-19 cases. While CM Uddhav Thackeray refrained from complete lockdown, he stated the new restrictions would be "very strict". With this, assembly of more than five people at a public place will be restricted. However, food delivery and other essential services will remain operative.
