Supreme Court Suspends Farm Laws' Implementation, Forms Expert Panel
The Supreme Court's three-judge bench led by CJI SA Bobde on January 12 ruled that the Centre's three farm laws will not be implemented till further orders. The "extremely disappointed" court also ordered formation of an expert committee comprising four members. The committee will be tasked to examine the laws taking the protesting farmers' views into account. Meanwhile, the Centre will hold the ninth round of talks with the farmers on January 15.
