US Cancels Visas of Chinese Students, Researchers Citing "National Security"
The United States on September 10 revealed that it has cancelled visas of over 1,000 Chinese students and researchers, citing "national security" as the reason. The US suspected them of having links with Chinese army. While China accused the US of racial discrimination, the latter said that it would welcome "legitimate students" from China who do not have "ulterior motives". Around 3,70,000 Chinese students study at various US Universities.
