Uttarakhand Govt Withdraws Char Dham Devasthanam Management Board Act
The Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami on November 30 announced withdrawal of the Uttarakhand Char Dham Devasthanam Management Board Act 2019. His decision was based on a high-level committee's report, set by the government. The act proposed to bring Char Dham (Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath) and 49 shrines under the board. However, the priests did not agree to make a board saying it was encroachment upon their rights.
