Nuh Violence In July, Authorities Deny VHP's Brij Mandal Yatra In Haryana

Authorities have denied permission to hold on August 28 the VHP's Brij Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra in Haryana's Nuh that was disrupted after communal violence in July, police said on Tuesday. The Nuh district administration on Tuesday evening rejected the application for permission moved before it by the organizers of the yatra. he development comes over a week after a 'mahapanchayat' by Hindu outfits at Pondri village in Palwal.

Uttarakhand Rain Led To Collapse Of Tapkeshwar Mahadev Temple

In Uttarakhand, heavy rainfall resulted in disaster, as a part of the famous Tapkeshwar Mahadev temple in Dehradun has collapsed on August 21. Devotees, who came to the temple to offer prayers on the occasion of "Somvar of Sawan" faced problems as the way leading to the temple's entrance was partially blocked due to the falling of trees. Muslim Woman Restricted To Sit For Hindi Exam, Asked To Remove Hijab: Tamil Nadu

In Tamil Nadu's Tiruvannalamalai region, a Muslim woman named Shabana was restricted to write her Hindi examination, because of her hijab. The administration stopped her and asked her to remove Hijab if she wishes to appear for an exam. The issue soon escalated with protests and involvement of top level educational officials, who later approved Shabana to sit for exam in Hijab. However, citing unstable condition, Shabana refused to sit.

Pilgrim Dies During Amarnath Yatra, Slips In 300 Meter Deep Gorge

The pilgrimage Amarnath Yatra turned tragic for 50-year-old Vijay Kumar Shah. On August 18 night, while returning from the holy Amarnath cave, Vijay slipped to a 300-meter-deep down, resulting in his death. He was rescued by the Indian Army but was found dead, confirmed the J&K police.  Notably, Vijay Kumar Shah was from Tumba village in Rohtas District, Bihar and was on a pilgrimage yatra with one Mamta Kumari.

Kedarnath Yatra: 5 Pilgrims Died Due To Landslide In Uttarakhand

Five pilgrims were killed after a car they were travelling in was buried under the debris of a landslide at Tarsali under Chowki Phata in Uttarakhand's Rudraprayag district, police said on Saturday. According to officials, the victims, including one from Gujarat, were on their way to Kedarnath when the incident took place on Thursday evening. Furthermore, the IMD has issued rain and landslide alert in Uttarakhand.
