Relief To Ex Air India Pilot Arvind, Delhi HC Quashes FIR Against Him
The Delhi High Court has quashed an FIR against former Air India pilot Arvind Kathpalia for the alleged offences of violating aircraft rules, including evading a breath analyser test, and forgery, saying the allegations against him are wholly insufficient to make out a case against him. The high court said the petitioner, now retired, cannot be subjected to "double jeopardy, giving a relief to the pilot.

Delhi Court Directs Police To Make Sure Physical Appearance Of Manish Sisodia
The Delhi High Court (HC) dismissed the plea of the City Police, seeking permission to produce Manish Sisodia virtually. Special Judge MK Nagpal issued the order and asked the Delhi Police to physically make Sisodia appear in the court, for the Delhi Liquor Scam 2021-2022 Case hearing. Notably, since March 2023, Sisodia, the former Deputy CM of Delhi, has been arrested in the excise policy scam, and lodged in Tihar.

"Adipurush" Lands In Legal Trouble, Right Wing Moves HC
In a writ petition, right-wing Hindu Sena said Prabhas and Kriti Sanon starter "Adipurush" is not "fit for public." On June 16, the Hindu Sena national president Vishnu Gupta filed the PIL in the Delhi HC and sought the removal of scenes which are putting religious concepts, leaders and others in a bad taste and spotlight. The petitioner further said that the film hurt religious sentiment and should be banned.

Manish Sisodia Denied Bail Again In Liquor Policy Scam: Delhi
Once again AAP leader and former Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia has been denied bail in the Delhi Liquor Policy Scam. The Delhi HC reviewed the bail plea in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) case and rejected the petition, seeking bail. This is the fifth time, the court denied bail to Manish Sisodia, the prime accused in the Excise Policy Scam. He has been lodged in Tihar Jail.

Delhi HC Lists PIL Against Rs 2,000 Note Withdrawal By RBI On May 29
The Delhi court, which was hearing a PIL challenging the RBI's decision to withdraw the banknote from circulation, posted the matter for hearing on May 29. The withdrawal of Rs 2000 denomination banknotes from circulation was a “currency management exercise”, said RBI. A bench headed by Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma is reviewing the matter, and asked the RBI to defer the decision of the withdrawal of Rs 2,000 notes.

Delhi HC Issues Summon To BBC Over PM Modi Documentary
The matter of BBC's controversial documentary on "PM Narendra Modi" reached the Delhi HC. The court issued a summon to the BBC after a NGO filed a defamation case, saying the documentary casts a slur on the reputation of India. In the plea, the NGO's lawyer said, " documentary makes defamatory imputation and cast a slur on the reputation of the country." Reacting to it, HC issued summon orders.

Remand Of Manish Sisodia Extended Till March 6 : Delhi Liquor Scam
The judicial custody of former Deputy CM of Delhi Manish Sisodia has been extended till March 6. The judicial custody to the CBI was remanded in connection with the Delhi Liquor Policy Scam, which is being investigated by the CBI. Sisodia, who is the prime accused into the matter was arrested on February 28, following which he was remanded till March 4. Today, Delhi HC granted an extension to custody.
