In a bid to privatise airports, the Airports Authority of India on January 19 signed a 'concession agreement' with the Adani Group making them concessionaires of Guwahati, Jaipur and Thiruvanthapuram airports for the next 50 years. The import-export of dogs and dog meats have resumed after the Kohima bench of Guwahati High Court put hold on the "banned dog trade" earlier this week. Eleven men dressed in Army's attire were arrested near LGBI airport, Guwahati, on November 17 after failing to prove their legitimacy to the local police. Reportedly, four men initially caught by the patrol team further led to the arrest of seven others from a rented house, where fake IDs and documents were recovered with zero weapons. As per Commissioner Debraj Upadhyay, strict cases of IPC have been registered against the men.

Guwahati's Kamakhya Temple reopened on October 11 and devotees were allowed to stay for 15 minutes in the complex. Reportedly, the devotees were directly allowed to enter if they had a maximum three-day old COVID-19 negative report, or were asked to undergo a Rapid Antigen Test before entering the temple. The temple will be opened from 8 AM till evening. However, timings are subject to change in the Navratri period.
