Assam Converts Football Stadium Into 300 Bed Hospital In 20 Days
As a preparation for the third wave of COVID-19, the Assam government has converted a football stadium into a 300-bed hospital. The temporary hospital was inaugurated by Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma on June 10 at the Sarusajai Stadium complex in Guwahati. With the help of The Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), the hospital was built in 20 days at a cost of Rs 21.46 crore.

Agra District Administration Orders To Seal Hospital After 22 Deaths
Shree Paras Hospital in Agra is being sealed after 22 people died from oxygen shortage. The decision came after a video of the hospital owner saying to stop oxygen supply as part of a mock drill surfaced. In the video, the doctor admitted that 22 people died after he shut off the oxygen supply for five minutes. The District administration also assured to book the hospital under the Epidemic Act.

Delhi: Govt Hospital Asks Nurses Not To Talk In Malayalam, Faces Ire
A Delhi government hospital has drawn criticism after issuing a circular instructing nurses to not to talk in Malayalam. The Govind Ballabh Pant hospital's circular stated all communication at the workplace should be done in Hindi or English to avoid "serious action". While the hospital authorities cited that maximum people there did not know Malayalam, nurses' union has objected to the inclusion of the language's name in the circular.

Ex-Bengal CM Buddhadeb Bhattacharya Admitted For COVID Complications
West Bengal’s former CM Buddhadeb Bhattacharya was admitted to the hospital on May 25 morning as his oxygen levels started falling below 90 due to COVID-19 infection last week. It is known that the veteran CPI(M) leader was suffering from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease for over a decade. Delhi Asks Union To Give Surplus Oxygen Quota To Other Needy States
The Delhi government on May 13 sought the Centre to give Delhi’s surplus oxygen quota to other states. Deputy CM Manish Sisodia said Delhi’s oxygen requirement has dropped from 700 metric tonnes to 582 metric tonnes/day. Thanking the Union and Delhi HC for rendering help in crisis, Dy-CM Sisodia said the positivity rate in Delhi dropped by 14% along with an increased availability in number of beds and oxygen concentrators.

WHO Says Rush To Hospital, Gatherings Worsening COVID Situation In India
The WHO spokesperson Tarik Jasarevic said that less than 15% of COVID-19 infected people in India need admission to the hospital and even a few require oxygen support. Tarik said, one of the reasons for increasing COVID-19 cases in India is 'many people rush to the hospital, even though home-based care monitoring at home can be managed very safely’. He also suggested community-level centres to screen and advice home care.
