PM Narendra Modi is likely to hold a Union Cabinet meeting, on March 9, to discuss various issued related to Ukraine-Russia invasion crisis. Notably, this is the third meeting over the issue, which would be chaired by the PM. The Union Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced that approximately 18,000 Indians left Ukraine, as of March 3. Under "Operation Ganga", a total of 34 flights rescued 6,400 stranded Indians. MEA Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said, in the next 24 hours, 18 aircrafts including C-17 IAF, commercial flights (SpiceJet, IndiGo) will be operational to rescue more Indians. Referring to the unrest in South Africa, South Africa’s minority front leader Shameen Thakur Rajbansi has claimed the "Indian community is devastated."
