Sunrisers Hyderabad's (SRH) fast bowler Umran Malik on October 3 surprised everyone as he bowled the fastest delivery at his IPL debut at 151.03 kmph in the ongoing IPL 2021 in Dubai. Notably, Kolkata Knight Riders' (KKR) Lockie Ferguson is still ahead of Mallik with his 152.75 kmph delivery. Reportedly, the 21-year-old Malik secured his debut match after SRH's T Natarajan tested positive for COVID-19.

Delhi Police Bust IPL Gambling Racket; 5 Arrested
The Delhi Police on September 22 busted an IPL gambling racket with five men having been arrested. The police seized two Laptops, 13 mobile phones, a television set and cash amounting to Rs 52,000 from a flat at Molarband Extension, Badarpur, where the gang was caught. The accused identified themselves as Akash, Ahsan, Sunit, Mukesh and Mohammad Shahjad.

Virat Kohli To Resign As RCB Captain After 2021 IPL
Indian batting ace Virat Kohli said on September 19 that he is planning to resign as the captain of Royal-Challengers Bangalore at the end of the current IPL season. The news comes after opting to leave the Indian T20 captaincy following the World Cup in October. Upon announcing his resignation as the captain of the Indian T20 team, he claimed that he was doing so to manage his workload well.

Ball To Be Replaced & Sanitised If Goes Out Of Ground: BCCI On IPL 2021
For the remaining season of the IPL 2021 in Dubai starting from September 19, the BCCI announced new protocols to counter the COVID-19 infection. The new advisory says the ball will be replaced and sanitised if it goes ''in the stands or outside the stadium.'' Besides, players are not allowed to spit or discharge nasal secretions on the ground. No other guests will be allowed inside the premises.

BCCI To Compensate Junior Players, Umpires For IPL Postponement
BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has announced that the junior players affected by the postponement of the IPL 2021 will be compensated in June-July. Besides, he also assured that the umpires and scorers "will all get their fees". Ganguly confirmed that the remainder of the IPL 2021 will not happen in India saying, "There are lots of organizational hazards like 14-day quarantine. This quarantine is tough to handle.”

IPL 2021: New Zealand's Tim Seifert Tests COVID+, To Stay Back In India
Tim Seifert, part of KKR squad and New Zealand player, has tested positive for COVID-19. A statement by New Zealand Cricket informed Seifert has "failed both his pre-departure PCR tests and as a result will be taken into quarantine." Reportedly, he will be isolated in Ahmedabad and then will be shifted to Chennai for best medical attention. Barring Seifert, all other New Zealand players have returned by a chartered flight.
