Govt PU College Allows Students In Hijab With Conditions: Karnataka Hijab Row
Karnataka Hijab row matter at PU College in Udupi, intensified. Notably, after the protests, the PU authority allowed students in Hijab, but asked them to sit in a seperate classroom. Despite the attempts of making students understand the recently issued government order, which restrict wearing anything but school uniform, the students insisted on wearing hijab. Karnataka CM To Hold Meetings With MPs Over State Budget: Delhi
Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai is set to hold a meeting with MPs of Delhi, on February 7. During the meeting, the State CM will discuss the projects and programmes, ahead of the Budget Session, next month, in Karnataka. Karnataka CM To Decide COVID-19 Relaxations After Expert Committee Meeting
Karnataka CM Basavaraja Bommai said, the Government will take decision on COVID-19 relaxations. On January 19, CM Bommai said, after consulting to the expert committee. "The decision will take after expert committee will review it and present full picture before us on Friday," said the CM. Karnataka Legislative Assembly Passes Anti-Conversion Bill 2021
Karnataka Legislative Assembly passed the Anti-Conversion Bill, 2021, on December 23. Named as "Karnataka Protection of Right To Freedom Of Religion Bill, 2021" was passed during the Winter Assembly session, with majority of MLAs in favour. Despite uproar from Congress, CM Bommai passed the bill, which prevent forceful conversion of religion. If violated, one will face imprisonment of five to ten years with Rs 25,000 fine to Rs 50,000.
