Madras HC Upholds 7.5% Quota For Govt School Students In Medical Colleges: TN
The Madras high court, on April 7, upheld the 7.5% reservation provided by the Tamil Nadu government for students from government schools in admission to medical courses. ''It was to help deserving students from the underprivileged and marginalised sections of the society get admission to medical colleges,'' stated the state government. Notably, Only 31% of the seats in medical colleges were earlier reserved for general category students.

UP Govt Signs Lease Agreement For Transfer Of Land For Ayodhya Airport
On April 7, the Civil Aviation Department of the Uttar Pradesh government signed a lease agreement with the Airports Authority of India (AAI). Maharashtra Govt Withdraws Juhu Bungalow Demolition Order
The Maharashtra government has pulled its order of demolition of unauthorized construction that was issued on Union Minister Narayan Rane's Juhu bungalow. NCB Seeks 90-Day Extension To File Chargesheet In Aryan Khan's Case

Assam Govt To Seek Supreme Court's Clearance For Aadhaar Cards To NRC
Assam government is set to move the Supreme Court (SC) seeking a directive to the Centre for granting Aadhaar cards to those left in NRC. In addition, over 27 lakh residents in the state whose biometrics were collected to update the NRC, of which 1.9 million were left out . I-T Dept Investigates Land Deal Involving Minister Anil Parab: Maharashtra
The Income Tax (IT) department is currently probing a land deal that took place in 2017 between Maharashtra Transport minister Anil Parab and a Mumbai-based cable operator Sadanand Kadam. In addition, the department carried out raids on businesses and close aides of Parab on March 8. Notably, Anil Parab had purchased land in Dapoli in 2017 for Rs 1 crore, but registered the land in 2019.
