16 Missing Mariners Including 3 Indians Rescued From International Waters Near Malaysia

About sixteen missing mariners including three Indian nationals have been rescued from the international waters near Malaysia, on August 26. The swift rescue operation was carried out successfully by the Indian coast guard. Notably, the coordination of three nations in the Indo-pacific region (India, Singapore and Malaysia), has increased the capabilities of Indian coast guard. Further details on the matter are awaited.

Indian shuttler B Sai Praneeth began his Malaysia Masters 2022 campaign with victory over Guatemala's Kevin Cordon on July 6. Sameer Verma of India lost his opening men's singles match of the current Malaysia Masters 2022 against Taiwan's Chou Tien-Chen. In the women's singles, PV Sindhu will face China's He Bingjiao, while HS Prannoy will face France's Brice Leverdez. Saina Nehwal will compete against Kim Ga-eun of South Korea.

Indian Women's Volleyball Team Defeats Malaysia In 2022 Princess Cup

The Indian senior women's volleyball team won against Malaysia with 3-0 scorecard, on June 26. The team was in its preliminary third league match of the 21st Princess Cup in Nakhon Pathom, Thailand, which has a scorecard, 25-17 25-16 25-22.  The Princess Cup started on June 24 and is scheduled till June 30. Achyuta Samanta, President of the Volleyball Federation of India (VFI), congratulated the team on its victory.

Malaysia Reports 6,517 New COVID-19 Cases, 41 Deaths

Malaysia reported 6,517 new Coronavirus cases with 41 deaths in the last 24 hours. According to reports, sixteen COVID-19 cases are imported with 6,501 being locally transmitted said the ministry of Malaysia, with the total number of cases recorded to be 2,535,338 in the country. Active cases are reported to be 64,277, among which 543 have been admitted to the ICU, and 268 are in need of ventilators.
