In a shocking incident, a 68-year-old allegedly raped a minor, student of class 5 in West Bengal's Darjeeling. According to sources, the accused raped the victim for one month repeatedly and threatened her to death, if she speaks about it to anybody. He even used to give her Rs 10 for every time he raped the girl. A case has been registered under POCSO Act and an investigation is underway.
Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan rushed to hospital, after he met with an accident. According to sources, the actor was in Los Angeles. The actor suffered injury and underwent a minor nose surgery. Although there is no minor injury and the Bollywood king is doing fine and is likely to be back in India soon. Notably, SRK is shooting for his upcoming projects.

In yet another incident highlighting the ongoing stray dog menace in Muzhappilangad in Kerala's Kannur, a nine-year-old girl named Jhanvi was attacked and severely injured by a pack of strays. This incident comes after another previous attack leading to the tragic death of a young boy in the area. The video of the horrific attack by stray dogs went viral on social media platforms.
A youth has been arrested for allegedly marrying his minor girlfriend after getting her date of birth on her Aadhaar Card changed to show she is an adult, confirmed a Mumbai Police official. The case was filed by the minor's father. As per the complaint filed at Dahisar police station, she was born on May 7, 2006 but the accused got it changed to March 12, 2004 on Aadhaar Card.
In Rajasthan's Barmer district, two children died due to drowning, confirmed police on March 18. A rescue team pumped out water from the pond and recovered the bodies, which were identified as Devaram Bheel(13) and Laxman Bheel (14.) Both residents of Bheelon Ki Dhani in Barasan village under Gudamalani police station area in Barmer. The children went to graze their cattle and reached a pond and drowned while drinking water.

A massive fire broke out in Malad's slum area, resulting in the death of one 12-year-old boy identified as Prem Tukaram Bore. The incident occurred in the early hours of February 13, confined to 50 to 100 huts in Malad and was a major (level-two) fire, confirmed police. Eight fire engines, four jumbo tankers and an ambulance were sent to the spot, to control the massive fire.

A couple in Gurugram tortured and molested a 14-year-old minor. The news came into light after a joint team of police and Sakhi, a one-stop crisis centre, rescued the girl from New Colony, on February 7. The minor was hired by the couple through an agency to take care of their 3-year-old dayuughter, as they worked in private companies. The police registered a case and launched an investigation.

In Hyderabad, a 13-year-old minor girl was gang-raped after being drugged. Kidnapped from home on September 13, the girl was taken to a OYO Hotel, where she was gang-raped, following which on September 15, the two accused identified as Niyamat and Rishabh, left her at Chandarghat. The parents of the victim filed a complaint, following which the police launched an investigation and arrested the two accused.
In Uttar Pradesh's Banda district, a four-year-old minor girl was allegedly raped by a man from her village, who lured the victim, when she was playing outside her home, confirmed police on July 23. Banda Superintendent of Police (SP) Abhinandan said the accused, Farid (22), was arrested and a case under the POCSO Act and IPC sections has been registered. The victim is in hospital and is in critical condition.

In Uttar Pradesh's Ballia, a teenage boy was sent to a juvenile reform home for raping a five-year-old girl, confirmed police on July 11. As per Inspector Avinash Singh of Ubhaon police station, the five-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her 12-year-old neighbour on the terrace of his house on July 10. The victim's father registered a case, and the girl was sent for medical examination. Moreover, investigation is underway.
