A 11-year-old girl from Pune was allegedly sexually molested by her brother, father, grandfather and a distant uncle. "The girl's elder brother started sexually assaulting her around November 2020. Her grandfather and distant uncle used to touch her inappropriately," stated the police. Reportedly, the police have registered a case under relevant sections and further investigation is underway. 

Another incident of rape was reported in South Mumbai. A 45-year-old allegedly raped his 14-year-old stepdaughter, and has been arrested. As reports, the accused was HIV positive and has been booked under relevant sections of the IPC.  Notably, with the help of neighbor, the victim shared the crime and a complaint was registered. Although the incident was reported on February 7, it came in light on February 11.

A class nine student, was abducted from school, raped, and dumped outside her home in Rajasthan’s Dungarpur district. Notably, a class 12 student, allegedly abducted the victim to an isolated forest and raped the girl. The incident happened on January 24, when the victim went to school with her brother and came out during lunchtime. Moreover, police have arrested the prime accused and his friend and launched an investigation. 

In Mumbai, a special POSCO court Judge Seema Jadhav on December 29 awarded life imprisonment to a catholic priest for raping a 13-year-old boy in 2015. Reportedly, the boy was raped by Father Johnson Lawrence in church and was sent to jail after the victim's parents registered a complaint on December 15 in 2015. The priest was found guilty under sections 6 and 12 of the POCSO act. 

In a shocking incident, Pune Police has arrested 11 people so far including six autorickshaw drivers, two railway employees, and three others, for gang-raping a 13-year-old girl on August 31. Reportedly, an accused, autorickshaw driver who offered the service to drop the girl home had called others to rape the minor. However, the victim was taken to the hospital and is said to be stable.
