Four Held On Charges Of Gang-Rape Of Minor Girl In Jharkhand
In Jharkhand's Rachi, a 13-year-old girl was brutally gang-raped by seven men on August 26. Reportedly, the incident took place when the victim went to meet a minor-accused friend who was waiting with the other six accused. SP Naushad Alma said that they registered a case against the men and arrested four minor accused. However, two accused are on the run.

Safety of Minors Has To Be 'Shared Responsibility' Says Goa's CM
Following the criticism over the remark related to the gang-rape of two girls, Goa CM Pramod Sawant issued a clarification on July 30, saying ''My statement about the unfortunate incident was taken out of context.'' He further added that the safety of the children particularly minors has to be a “shared responsibility.” The accused have been arrested. Besides, he assured the stringent action to be taken against the accused.

43-Year-Old Man Rapes, Impregnates Minor Niece; Arrested
Tamil Nadu police have arrested a 43-year-old man on July 10 for allegedly raping and impregnating his minor niece in Coimbatore. On experiencing abdominal pain, the 12-year-old victim was taken to the hospital where medical examination showed her to be eight months pregnant. A complaint was filed by the minor's parents under IPC Sections 376 (3) and 560 (Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses).

6-Year-Old Kerala Girl Raped For Years, Hanged To Death
Kerala youth wing CPI(M) leader has been arrested for allegedly raping a 6-year-old girl for the last three years and hanged her to death. The incident came to light on June 30, when the body was found hanging at her home in the Idukki district of Kerala. Reportedly, the girl went unconscious while being raped after which the accused hanged her assuming she was dead.

7-Year-old Boy Dies After Slammed 27-Times To Floor In Taiwan
A 7-year-old boy, who went into a coma after being slammed 27-times to the floor during a judo practice session in Taiwan, has died on June 30. Reportedly, he suffered severe brain hemorrhages and had been on life support for the last 70 days. However, the family took a tough call and withdrew the support. Besides, the coach could face 7 years of jail or life imprisonment.

Bihar: Man Rapes Minor, Sentenced To 12-Year Imprisonment
A special court on June 24 sentenced 12-year imprisonment to Manish Kumar, under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) Act. Pearl Puri Being Framed For Rape By Victim's Father: Divya K Kumar
Filmmaker Divya Khosla Kumar has now offered her support to rape-accused actor Pearl V Puri, saying that he has been framed by the 7-year-old victim's father. Holding Minor's Hand, Opening Pant's Zip Not Sexual Assault: Bombay HC
Quashing a session court's order, the Nagpur bench of the Bombay High Court observed that holding a minor's hand or opening her pant's zip does not qualify as "sexual assault" under the POCSO Act. Justice Pushpa Ganediwala stated this while hearing a case of a 50-year-old man held for harassing a five-year-old girl. The judge said that such crimes should be treated as "sexual harassment" under the Indian Penal Code.
