Mithali Raj Reacts To Women's IPL Proposal Likely In 2023
Responding to the proposal of the Indian Premier League (IPL) for women, former women's cricket team captain Mithali Raj said, "WIPl will be a huge boost to women's cricket". Notably, IPL Chairman Lalit Modi shared an opinion, saying there should be a proper women's tournament from 2023 like the Women’s Indian Premier League (WIPL). Moreover, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah said, the event will be a priority, and likely to happen in 2023.

Taapsee Pannu, who is all set for her upcoming release 'Shabhash Mithu', expressed displeasure about how cricket lovers in India, don't show equal love to women's cricket. Mithali Raj Announces Retirement From International Form Of Cricket
Cricketer Mithali Raj announced retirement from all forms of international cricket on June 8. She had a two-decade long cricket career, she will now bid goodbye to the international forms with a record 7,805 runs in 232 ODIs. 12 Test matches and 89 T20 Internationals. "Like all journeys, this one too must come to an end. Today is the day I retire from all forms of International Cricket," posted Mithali.

Mithali Raj Scores 50 In ICC Women World Cup 2022, Creates World Record
Mithali Raj is the oldest woman cricketer to score a half-century, on March 27. Mithali achieved this milestone during a match against South Africa for the ICC Women World Cup 2022. The Indian Skipper had scored 68 off 84 balls with eight four runs at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch. Notably, she also holds the record of the youngest batter to score a fifty.

Srijit Mukherji To Direct Sports Drama 'Shabaash Mithu'
Srijit Mukherji, the renowned director of movies like Begum Jaan, has taken over the charge to direct, "Shabaash Mithu", starring Tapsee Pannu. Earlier, the movie was supposed to be directed by Rahul Dholakia, who then stepped down stating, “covid messed up everyone’s schedules, mine was no different." The movie is based on the life of Indian Women's cricket team captain Mithali Raj and is being produced by Viacom 18 Pictures.

BCCI Announces Women Team For England Tour Starting From June 16
Indian cricket control board, BCCI, on May 14 listed out the names of women players who will be part of the England tour, scheduled to start from June 16. The team, captained by Mithali Raj, will play a Test, three ODIs and three T20Is. Interestingly, 17-year-old Shafali Verma has made it to the squad for all the three formats. However, spinner Rajeshwari Gayakwad has been put out due to injury.

Mithali Creates History; First Woman To Score 7,000 ODI Runs
Ace Indian cricketer Mithali Raj has become the first woman to score 7,000 runs in ODIs. The milestone was achieved during the fourth match against South Africa Women on March 14. The leading run-scorer in women's ODIs completed 7,000 runs during her partnership with Punam Raut. Recently, Mithali had created history by becoming the first Indian and second woman globally to score 10,000 runs in international cricket.

Mithali Becomes 1st Woman Cricketer To Cross 10,000 International Runs
Indian women's cricket team captain Mithali Raj, on March 12 became the first Indian women cricketer to secure 10,000 international runs. Second after England’s Charlotte Edwards, the 38-year-old cricketer achieved the feat during her 36 run innings against South Africa in third ODI played at Lucknow. With a total of 6974 runs in ODI, Mithali is just short of 36 runs to become the first ever women cricketer to reach the feat of 7000 runs.
