Pakistan PM  Imran Khan is no more in power, after the "No-Trust-Vote", which happened in the wee hours of April 10. Notably, The opposition parties secured the support of 174 members in the 342-member National Assembly, more than the needed strength of 172 to oust PM Imran Khan. Furthermore, Khan was not present during the voting, following the no-trust vote, lawmakers of Khan's party also walked out of the proceedings.

West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee proposed a meeting of all opposition parties, to discuss the 'misuse of central agencies' by the PM Modi-led Central Government. The recently concluded monsoon session passed the second-highest number of bills since 2014 despite having excessive disturbance and disruption caused throughout. Reportedly, a total of 1.1 bills per day were passed in 17 days despite many hours lost on the opposition's protests. Among the 19 bills were Taxation Laws Bill, Tribunals Reform Bill, and more. Reportedly, the 2020 monsoon session has seen the highest bill count since 2014.

Opposition parties have released a joint statement asking the government to discuss on the "national issue" of Pegasus in both the Houses of Parliament. They called for a discussion on the farmers' protests and the three farm laws. "It is unfortunate that the government has unleashed misleading campaign to malign the combined Opposition and blaming it for the continued disruption in the Parliament," said the statement.

A hundred Opposition MPs including Congress met over breakfast on August 3 on Rahul Gandhi's invitation.
