The Indian National Investigation Agency (NIA) has contacted the Canadian government, pleading with them to take legal action against two citizens of Canada who murdered a priest. Over a year ago, the two people were reportedly implicated in the murder of a priest named Kamaldeep Singh in Punjab in January 2021. The central agency has requested that Canada conduct a priority probe into the two individuals.

In Ghaziabad, the head priest of the Dasna Devi Temple made a controversial comment about Muslim community in India. On April 4, Yati Narasinghanand said, "Once a Muslim becomes PM, 50 percent Hindus will convert, 40 percent will be killed and the remaining 10 percent will either live in refugee camps or in other countries in the next 20 years". Notably, Narasinghanand is also accused in Haridwar hate speech.

In a horrific case in south-west Delhi, a 9-year-old girl was raped and cremated by a 55-year-old priest and three employees of a crematorium on August 1. Reportedly, the girl went to take cold water from the water cooler of the crematorium on the very evening when the accused commited the crime and informed the parents that she was ''electrocuted to death''. DCP Pratap Singh said four have been arrested.
