SAD To Make Deputy CM From BSP If Wins 2022 Punjab Election

Sukhbir Singh Badal, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president, said his party will make deputy chief minister from SAD's alliance partner Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) if it comes to power in Punjab on December 10. SAD has planned to contest 97 seats while BSP will fight on 20 out of the total 117 seats, reported ANI. Notably, Congress had won 77 seats in 2017, followed by AAP, SAD, and BJP.

SAD Announces 4 New Candidates For Punjab Assembly Elections 2022

The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD,) on November 28 announced four more candidates for the 2022 Punjab Assembly elections. Nusrat Ali Khan, Gur Iqbal Singh, Rohit Vohra, and Rajanbir Singh were given tickets to contest the 2022 elections. However, SAD declares 88 Members of the Legislative Assembly candidates. The SAD is going to contest Assembly elections along with the Bahujan Samaj Party, after breaking an alliance with the BJP.

Shiromani Akali Dal Unveils 3 New Candidates For Punjab Election

Ahead of the Punjab Assembly election, the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on November 13 announced three new candidates for the election. The new announcement has increased SAD's candidate list to 83 out of 97 candidates who will fight for it. Three new names include Sunita Chaudhary who will fight from the Balachaur seat, Jaspal Singh Bitu Chatha from Patiala Rural seat, Bachittar Singh Khohar from Shahkot seat.

On the anniversary of passing three farm laws by the central government, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) have announced to observe September 17 as ''black day''. AAP leaders have decided to hold candle marches in Punjab to pay tribute to the farmers who died during the protest. Moreover, SAD leaders planned to hold a March from Gurdwara Rakabganj to Parliament to support farmers' protests.

SAD Leader To Protest Against the Agriculture Bill Passed on September 15

On September 17, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Balwinder Bhunder said that they will protest against the three agricultural bill proposed lately in the parliament. "Having an alliance with BJP doesn't mean, we will agree on all the terms," he added. The ordinances to replace the bills have been introduced in the Lok Sabha, and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Bill, 2020 passed on September 15.
