In an encounter that broke out in the Jammu & Kashmir's Shopian district on February 25, the Indian security personnel kill terrorists. According to the reports, the local police have recovered arms and ammunition from the site. "Two terrorists killed. Incriminating materials, including arms and ammunition, recovered," informed Kashmir zone police. However, the search operation is going on and further details are awaited.

In J&K's Poonch area, security forces on February 14 have recovered arms and ammunition, including two pistols and an AK-47 rifle. The search operation was conducted by J&K police along with the Indian army, near the LoC in Deri Dabsi village of Mendhar area. In a joint operation, they recovered one AK-47, two pistols, pistol magazines. However, an FIR has been registered under the relevant arms act.

In the Darbagh Dhara area of Srinagar's Harwan, an unidentified militant was killed in an encounter with security forces in the early hours of December 19. The police also confirmed that an encounter broke out and an unidentified militant was killed. Furthermore, searches in the area have also been launched. In the Shopian district of South Kashmir, a gunfight broke out between security forces and militants. The fight started on December 8 after security forces received information about militants in the district. Three militants are said to be trapped in the area. Furthermore, J&K police Spokesperson tweeted, ''Encounter started at Check Cholan area of #Shopian. Police and security forces are on job. Further details shall follow."
