Hasanamba Festival Begins, To Go On Till Nov 6: Karnataka

The annual Hasanamba festival at the Hasanamba Temple in Karnataka's Hassan started on October 29. The festival is likely to go on till November 6, 2021. Reportedly, only elected representatives and officers were allowed to enter the temple on the first day due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. Furthermore, devotees are allowed to enter everyday, except the last day. Besides, the temple gates opened in the presence of officials.

4 Killed After Hindu Temples Vandalised In Bangladesh

Several Hindu temples were vandalised by miscreants during Durga Puja festivities in Bangladesh. The incidents forced the Bangladesh Government to deploy paramilitary forces in over 20 districts after four people were killed and several left injured. As per reports, some incidents of blasphemy incited mobs to violence and killings. The southern town of Hajiganj was the epicentre of riots, where four people were killed.

Morning arti was performed at Jhandewalan Temple at Delhi on the second day of Navratri, and it will continue till October 15, as this year "Ashtmi falls" on October 13, while Dashmi on October 15. Delhi Disaster Management Authority has granted permission to open religious places adhering to the Covid-19 protocols. As per the orders, sprinkling holy water and giving Prasad is not permitted inside the temple.

Siddhivinayak Temple To Reopen From Oct 7; Pre-booking Via App

Siddhivinayak Ganapati Temple Trust announced that the temple will be reopened from October 7. Adesh Bandekar the president of the temple stated that devotees will be allowed inside the temple only through pre-booking on Shree Siddhivinayak Temple app. However, only 250 devotees will be allowed for every hour of darshan. Moreover, devotees are instructed to follow Covid-19 rules and registrations will begin from October 6.

Pakistan PM Permits Temple Destruction; UP Court To hear Petitioner

Taking into cognizance a petition filed against Pakistan PM Imran Khan in connection with the temple destruction, UP's Pratapgarh court said it will hear the matter on August 26. The petitioner-lawyer Gyan Prakash Shukla said Khan had permitted the destruction of Lord Ganesha's temple in Pakistan. Shukla alleged that khan did so to ''disturb the communal harmony of India'' and to launch a ''cold war'' against India.

20 Arrested, 150 Booked For Destroying Hindu Temple: Pakistan

Following the order of Pakistan's Supreme Court, the country's Punjab province police on August 7 arrested 20 people and booked over 150 persons for destroying a Hindu Temple. “We will make sure that no such incident happens. Besides, the restoration work of the temple has been underway in full speed,” said Punjab’s CM Usman Buzdar. The culprits have been booked under terrorism and other Pakistan Penal Code sections.

Pala Dynasty's 'Stone Sun Idol' Unearthed During Excavation In Bihar

An ancient "Sun stone idol" was unearthed during excavation on the premises of Baba Mateshwar Dham Temple in Bihar’s Saharsa district on July 18. The idol, measured three feet in height, holds two lotus flowers each on one hand. “We have placed the idol in the temple and have begun worshipping it,” said Arun Kumar, temple trust chairman. Reportedly, the idol belongs to the "Pala dynasty (750 AD)".

The famous Mahakaleshwar temple at Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh has reopened for devotees on June 28. Meanwhile, an online permission is required for the deity's 'darshan' in the temple. UP Police Demolishes 'Corona Mata' Temple Constructed Through Donations

A temple of 'Corona Mata' at Juhi Shukulapur village in Uttar Pradesh has been demolished on June 11, within a week of its construction. The villagers claim that Lokesh Kumar Srivastava, who lives in Noida had initiated the temple work through donations. However, the UP police demolished it after a complained was filed by Nagesh Kumar who jointly owns the land.

Kerala: Sabarimala Temple Opens Gate, Gears Up For Vishu Celebrations

Kerala's Sabarimala Temple on April 10 decided to open the temple for devotees to celebrate Vishu festival. However, the Travancore Devaswom Board clarified that the mandatory COVID-19 health protocol will remain enforced in the temple. Besides, only those devotees will be allowed who either have taken two jabs of COVID vaccine or can furnish a COVID-19 negative report not older than 48 hours. Moreover, they have to register online first.
