Thane Police Raids Hookah Parlour Functioning Illegally
In Maharashtra's Thane region, a hookah parlour was raided by the local Police. The hookah parlour was functioning at Teen Haath Naka allegedly for past two years, which the police had no idea about. Around 13 customers along with staff were apprehended from the place operational near a college in Thane. The hookah joint was full of customers, and 13 customers were caught smoking shisha in the parlour.

Thane: "Har Ghar Camera" Initiative To Curb Crime
With an aim of preventing crimes, the Thane Police launched "Har Ghar Camera". The campaign, urged Thanekars to install a CCTV camera at their residences. Thane's Additional Commissioner of Police, Mahesh Patil, announced that an additional 2,500 CCTV cameras would be needed to enhance surveillance and security measures in the city. Mumbai Woman Arrested For Running Sex Racket
In Maharashtra's Thane region, a 24-year-old woman was arrested for allegedly running a sex racket. The police booked the woman, a resident of Andheri, Mumbai under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, and confirmed the arrest on February 11. The police further said, they arrested the woman after a tip off about the flesh trade, from Kalwa Naka. A case has been registered and an investigation is underway.

Thane Police Busts Human Trafficking, Flesh Trade Racket, Arrest Woman
Thane police busted a flesh trade racket operating in Maharashtra's Thane city, running by bar dancers, on July 24. The rescued women were from West Bengal and Samastipur, Bihar, said inspector Mahesh Patil from the anti-human trafficking cell. Furthermore, the raid was on a tip-off, following which they laid a trap and busted the racket and arrested the women., who were running the racket to earn money.

Undertrial Dies In Police Custody, Inquiry Ordered Maharashtra
Dattatreya Wake, an undertrial alleged of harassing a woman, died under the police custody before court trials in Thane. On March 1, the police informed that Dattatreya Warke,who was remanded in an isolated cell awaiting COVID-19 test, died due to seizure. Although he was rushed to the civic hospital, he died during treatment on February 27. The Thane Police ordered an inquiry in the matter.

Burglars Break Into 10 Shops Within 6 Hours In Thane: Maharashtra
Atleast 10 shops were robbed in a span of six hours at Maharashtra's Thane, reported PTI. The incident took place during the intervening night of December 14 - 15. About Rs 79,000 worth of goods were robbed, said a shop owner. Reportedly, the burglars broke into shops including pharmacies and sweet shops. Maharashtra police stated that a case has been registered and a search for the "culprits" is on.

Ex-Cop Param Bir Singh Appears Before Thane Police: Extortion Case Investigation
Former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh, on November 26, appeared before the Thane Police Station for interrogation in the extortion case registered against him. The case has been registered under sections of IPC and the Arms Act. A District Commissioner of Police (DCP) level officer is investigating the case against Singh and 26 others. Param Bir Singh arrived at Thane Police Station at 7:45 AM and investigation is underway.
