Sikkim: 2,000 Tourists Stranded Amid Heavy Rainfall

Heavy rainfall and flash floods created chaos in the touristy place of Sikkim. As many as 2,000 people are stranded in the region, confirmed reports on June 17. The road from North Sikkim district headquarters Mangan to Chungthang has been blocked at Pegong Supply Khola, disrupting vehicular traffic, the officials said. Furthermore, vehicles are also reportedly stuck in North Sikkim. The authority confirmed to begin clearance work after rain stops.
