UN Calls Christian Michel's Detention 'Arbitrary', Ask His Release
Terming Christian Michel's arrest as violation of the human rights, the United Nations has asked the Indian government to immediately release him. Blaming India and the UAE government, the UN’s Working Group on Arbitrary Detention has also asked to compensate Michel over his "arbitrary" arrest. Accused as the middleman in the AgustaWestland VVIP helicopter deal case, British national Michel was extradited from the UAE in 2018. The Centre had earlier rejected the UN's report findings.
