WHO Uncensors Words 'Taiwan' And 'China' After Facing Criticism
The World Health Organization (WHO) reversed censoring of words "Taiwan" and "China" from social media after criticism. Internet users remarked that WHO's Facebook page was not allowing comments which included the word 'Taiwan.' The censorship surfaced after China was criticized for blocking Taiwan's participation into a WHO meeting. While Taiwan termed the move as contrary to WHO's neutrality, WHO defended it for having a sound conversation. Later, WHO’s page flooded with pro-Taiwan and anti-China messages.
